Solar Flare Causing a Radio Burst

On Oct. 11, 2022, two jets of dark plasma shot out of the sunspot AR3116, causing a strong type II radio burst. The Low-Frequency Radio Telescope at SAASST detected this wide-range radio burst at 08:39 UT (12:39 local time).

Solar radio bursts represent the phenomenon of temporary and intense increases of emissivity in the solar radio dynamic spectrum. They are categorized into five types according to their spectral appearances: Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, and Type V radio bursts.
